JO ANN CLAY

TELEHEALTH

Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
MSN, APRN, PMHCNSBC

Jo Ann Clay is a Nationally Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. This gives her prescriptive authority, which allows her to prescribe and manage medications. She received her Master of Science Nursing degree from the University of Central Arkansas and has over 20 years of experience in treating anxiety, OCD, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, insomnia, psychotic disorders, and substance abuse disorders. Jo Ann is certified as an adult mental health provider, and she can see ages 18 through geriatric clients.

Jo Ann provides medication management via Telehealth. This makes it very convenient for clients to relax and be in their home or office setting for appointments. Jo Ann believes medication management requires finding the best medication for the client. This requires diagnostics and disclosure. She will want to know how well the medication is working (efficacy) as well as any problems that might arise (side effects). Good medicine requires trust and excellent communication.

Jo Ann loves to travel and has been to over 20 countries. Some of her travels include South Africa with the “People to People Ambassador” program, she helped to start a medical clinic in Kipsongo, Kenya, she spent a week in Stuttgart, Germany learning about human trafficking, and she also taught basic mental health for teachers and parents in schools in Mumbai, India.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She is known as “Grammy,” to them. They like to paint, color, read stories, watch movies, and play games like hide the thimble. They especially like going to Urban Air and climbing and jumping on trampolines.
